THESE BUILDINGS WILL NEVER LOOK THE SAME. NOT ONCE IN THEIR LIFETIME. David Fisher
Just when you thought the architecture in Dubai couldn’t get any more lairy, David Fisher came along. Yesterday he revealed what are probably the most extravagant building designs ever seen. These are the world’s first swirling sky-scrapers.

HIDDEN FEARS AND FAMILY TRAGEDY UNDERPIN THE WORK OF KEN MADORE.
Horrendous fears, obscure theories and family tragedy are the creative fuel for Brooklyn-based artist, Ken Madore. I get anxious just looking at his material. The layers, texturing, contrast and obsessive detail are astonishing. Hold on tight and take a look for yourselves.

Face Facts
I COULDN'T BELIEVE MY EYES WHEN I FIRST SAW IT. Siegfried Woldhek
In The Da Vinci Code, Paul Bettany was so pale that he was practically translucent. You could just about see his heart beating through his skin. The extraordinary appearance of his character, Silas, a slightly over-zealous albino church-goer, would no doubt have raised a few eyebrows at any morning communion. But what about Da Vinci himself? Despite his Mona Lisa, his Vitruvian Man, his Last Supper and all the vivid faces we see in them, not to mention his Hollywood makeover, no images of The Renaissance Man himself seem to exist. In this short film courtesy of TED, Siegfried Woldhek reveals his belief that he has finally cracked this 500 year old code.

Play The Hand You're Dealt
NO QUARTER ASKED.
In the tumultuous early days of learning to ride a push-bike, ‘going one-handed’ is a sign of elite mastery, of cool control. It means you’ve nailed the fundamentals and are ready to showboat. Zac Pomphrey has been going one-handed for his whole life, in everything he does. That makes this 13 year old's journey to the upper echelons of junior sport quite incredible.

A Noble Pursuit
IN A FACTORY NOT SO FAR AWAY.
Picture the scene: An English Gent reaches a certain point in his life and thinks “Right, I’m going to buy a proper British sports car.” His wife says “No, Darling. Don’t be silly!” But off he trots. He always fancied a Jaguar, but they are now owned by Ford. How about a Bentley? No, Volkswagen have got their ruthlessly efficient paws on that. “TVR (named after the founder, Trevor) must be British”, he thinks. But even they have gone - the new toy of a 28 year old Russian oligarch. Our intrepid Gent, determined to enjoy his mid-life crisis, has nearly given up hope...

Lego Is Back
THE REBIRTH OF A CHILDHOOD ICON.
I wish I’d done this. On reflection though, I remember being a massive stinge when it came to sharing my lego with my older brother, so sharing it with an entire village would probably trigger a significant tantrum. The man responsible for this bizarrely satisfying installation that fills the wall cracks in the village of Bocchignano, near Rome, is Jan Vormann, a 25 year old German artist. Check out the rest of his nostalgic handiwork here.

Give A Girl A Cow
SHE MIGHT JUST CHANGE THE WORLD.
Check out this cool site put together by Grow Interactive from Norfolk. The Nike Foundation has identified what it calls ‘The Girl Effect.’ My first thought was that this would be an empowering film explaining how ‘men aren’t the only ones who can pound the streets and get sweaty’; thankfully it wasn’t.
